Meteorological Analysis
|
Tropical depression 9 originated from an interaction between a low level trough
and a tropical wave over the Gulf of Mexico in early September. A low level
center formed in association with the resulting area of disturbed weather on
September 8th, about 160 nm south of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The system
organized into a tropical depression on the 8th and made landfall shortly
after formation. Landfall was near Sabine Pass, Texas on the 9th. The depression brought
squally conditions to coastal areas and degenerated into an area of rain once inland.
