Tropical Depression Four (2000) Archive

This is the Hurricane Warning
archive of tropical depression four.
The best data available was used
to create this archive, in order to
make it as educational as possible.

Meteorological Analysis

Tropical depression 4 originated from a low which separated from a front over
the Atlantic on August 4th. The low moved SW and had a well defined circulation
with convection by August 8th, it was declared a tropical depression that day.
The depression briefly hit tropical storm strength in a small area of the wind
field but, it wasn't enough for the depression to be considered a tropical storm.
The depression then moved west towards Florida until the 10th, when it veered NE about
70 nm E of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Shear hit the depression at this point and
the depression fully dissipated on the 11th. The depression was very vulnerable
to shear due to its small size.

Casualty and Damage Overview
