Sub Tropical Depression 22 (2005) Archive

This is the Hurricane Warning
archive of sub tropical depression 22.
The best data available was used
to create this archive, in order to
make it as educational as possible.

Meteorological Analysis

TD 22 originated from a mid/upper level low which formed over the Atlantic on the 5th. A
surface trough formed in association with the low on October 6th. The surface trough
became closed on October 8th as convection increased, and a subtropical depression
formed. It was about 500 nm from Bermuda at the time. As the depression turned west
on the north side of the low on the 9th, shear intensified. By the 10th the depression was a
remnant low, drifting about 150 nm from Bermuda. The low turned northwestward and
joined with a cold front off of Cape Hatteras on the 11th. It became an extra-tropical gale
on this front and affected the Mid-Atlantic until the 14th. The low was absorbed on the 14th.

Casualty and Damage Overview
