Meteorological Analysis
|
Tropical depression 2 originated from a tropical wave which moved off the
African coast on June 22nd. The wave quickly organized once over the Atlantic
and became a tropical depression on the 23rd, about 300 nm SE of the Cape
Verde Islands. The depression moved west at up to 20 kt under a strong
subtropical ridge after formation, and neared tropical storm strength briefly.
On the 25th the wave degenerated into an open wave however due to a
variety of factors.
