Meteorological Analysis
|
Tropical depression 2 originated from a tropical wave which left the coast of
Africa on July 7th. A weak surface circulation formed along the wave on July
10th and convection increased over the circulation. On July 11th the wave
organized enough to be considered a tropical depression, 1000 nm east of
the Windward Islands. The depression continued WNW under the subtropical
ridge and shear began to affect the depression. On the 12th shear caused the
circulation of the depression to open and the depression degenerated into an
open wave. The remnants of the depression continued west and affected the
Lesser Antilles with some scattered rain on July 13th and 14th.
