Meteorological Analysis
|
Chris originated from a tropical wave which moved off the coast of Africa on
August 12th. The wave organized slowly as it crossed the Atlantic and it
became a tropical depression on the 17th, about 600 nm east of the Lesser
Antilles. The depression became tropical storm Chris on the 18th as convection
exploded over the center. Heavy wind shear then hit Chris however and Chris
fully dissipated by the 19th.
